Assistant Editor

Daniel is Assistant Editor at the Nottingham Economic Review and a third-year Economics student at the University of Nottingham. His interests lie in diplomacy, global governance, and financial hubs with a focus on bridging academic insight and policy engagement.

James Pilling
Assistant Editor

James Pilling is Associate Editor at the Nottingham Economic Review and a final-year Economics student at the University of Nottingham. He is particularly interested in the intersection of economics and sport, exploring how economic theory can illuminate issues of competition, policy, and performance on and off the field.

Africa Fellow

Caleigh is an emerging development economist and risk analyst specialising in African geopolitics and economic development. Currently pursuing a Master of Commerce in Economic Development at the University of Cape Town (UCT), she brings a robust academic foundation combined with extensive practical experience in political and economic risk assessment.

Helena Oprandi
Europe Fellow

Helena is a data-driven economist specializing in quantitative analysis, machine learning, and environmental policy. Currently pursuing her Master’s in Economics and Data Analysis at the University of Verona, Helena has also studied in France and brings a uniquely regional understanding to her analytical work. 

Max Nicholls
South America Fellow

Max is an incoming second-year Law student at Durham University with a keen interest in political economy, global affairs, and legal thought. A contributor to Palatinate – Durham’s student newspaper – Max has also written for Non-Billable, a platform exploring the intersection of law, society, and culture.

South Asia Fellow

Talha is a policy researcher with a strong regional focus on development strategy, economic diplomacy, and institutional reform across South Asia. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego, Talha brings a nuanced understanding of the region’s evolving political economy.

Lalo Agha
United Kingdom Fellow

Lalo is a third-year Philosophy, Politics, and Economics student at the University of Nottingham, with a deep interest in how theory meets practice. His work explores the intersection of normative frameworks and policy design, unpacking how philosophical ideas and economic tools shape domestic governance and decision-making.

Vivian To
Indo-Pacific Fellow
Vivian is an emerging financial economist who focuses on the interrelation between Economics and Politics, particularly in the APAC and EMEA regions. Currently pursuing BSc PPE at King’s College London and having extensive experience in summer finance positions and various research positions, she provides worthy academic knowledge, as well as practical experiences in both political and economic fields.

East Africa Fellow

Abbas is an emerging development economist and policy analyst who has worked with migration, tax, and development INGOs in East Africa. A third-year PPE student at the University of Nottingham, he aims to critically engage with the economic dimensions of East Africa’s humanitarian and political sectors.

North America Fellow

Deyab is an emerging political economist and policy researcher, graduating from the University of California, Davis with dual degrees in Economics and International Relations. His work explores the intersection of law, technology, and global political economy examining how innovation and economic policy shape power dynamics across international systems.
